Atlanta (Ga.) - Thanking Hoggan for her fifty pound check and responding to Hoggan's request for sociological data on the African American social condition in Philadelphia. Du Bois mentions his book, "The Philadelphia Negro" and refers her to a Mr. R. R. Wright Jr. for more information. Du Bois also mentions common misunderstandings about the "criminal" behavior of African Americans in the South.
