1957 June 14
New York (N.Y.) - Signed James W. Ivy, Editor; per her letter of complaint (mums312-b147-i314), claiming that the article therein referenced did not "pointedly" mean to omit W. E. B. Du Bois; well admitting the periodical's indebtedness to him; and commenting briefly on his appearance the week prior on "Nighbeat" and his open discussion of his break with the N.A.A.C.P. therein discussed.
1957 Mar. 27
New York (N.Y.) - Signed James W. Ivy, Editor; declining Ronis's recommendation to run a feature commending W. E. B. Du Bois on the basis of his political affiliation and 1948 dismissal from the Association; "It seems to me it would be highly impolitic for THE CRISIS to issue a special Du Bois number."
