France - It was a nice day today but they spent the entire day working, they have been doing more and more work but they haven't gotten more help. Last night, the Sergeant borrowed a mandolin from one of the British soldiers and they had all sang along for a few hours. Letter from Frank F. Newth to Letitia Crane

France - The Germans dropped bombs during the night, for the first time in a few weeks. On Bastille Day, Nick travelled to a historical seaside town in Northern France where he visited the tower where Joan of Arc was imprisoned and other historical sites. He comments on the beauty of the gardens and cathedrals in France. Nick has been practicing the mandolin.
