Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Bendorf (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) - Clint has made a habit of writing letters to Rhea in the club and is enclosing some information about his division and others for her. He would like to send her the second division's insignia soon, which is a star and an Indian head. He writes about their uniforms, slumber parties, his love for Rhea, and their hopes that they might return home by the summer.

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Bendorf (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) - Clint writes that he isn't bothered by Rhea spending time with other men because he's confident in their love for each other and wouldn't be swayed by any rumors he heard. She shouldn't base any of her plans on what he will be doing, since his own situation is so uncertain. There was a lapse in his letter-writing because he visited Koblenz and ran into a nurse he knew from a previous hospital he had w... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Bendorf (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) - Clint has received bad news that the regular army, of which he is a part, will be the last to be sent home and some divisions will be remaining for quite a while. He's planning to go to a football game and then dinner with three other men and some of the nurses, his first social event in a while. He has requested leave but does not think it will be granted due to the ex... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Ehrenbreitstein (Koblenz, Germany) - Clint tells Rhea that her spirit is strong for staying positive when she does not get much mail, and he thinks her dream will come true although it may still take some time. Last Wednesday they moved from Bendorf to Ehrenbreitstein, an unpleasant old fortress dating back to Caesar's time. He describes the fortress, including how dirty it is, and his unhappiness with other divisions being allowed to le... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Ehrenbreitstein (Koblenz, Germany) - Clint hasn't heard from Rhea in a while, but he's growing to like where he is a little better now. They've had good weather, almost like spring, and the most wonderful moonlit nights. He didn't think he could ever enjoy moonlight again after last summer, when it mean German bombings. A new dental surgeon was transferred to their division, and he's finding the adjustment hard after being promised he co... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Ehrenbreitstein (Koblenz, Germany) - Clint has learned that the reason Rhea hadn't heard from him in so long was that all their mail from December was overlooked and remained undelivered until the new year. He worries that she will catch the flu since she spends so much time in schools, and urges her to be careful. He's been sick himself lately and the leave he and Captain Sampson requested has been delayed. He visited Koblenz the other ... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Ehrenbreitstein (Koblenz, Germany) - Clint is glad to hear Rhea has finally started to get his letters again, and he tells her about how he almost started a riot at his table by softly reading the parody of "Smiles" that she sent him. Their division football team "met its Waterloo" and lost 10-7. He got a letter from Hunter with an update on his situation and he apologizes to Rhea that he can't make any definitive plans for their future ... more

Letter from Clinton T. Brann to Rhea Oppenheimer

Ehrenbreitstein (Koblenz, Germany) - Clint was glad to get some snapshots from Rhea but is afraid to send her some of himself because he's aging. He learned that the new dental surgeon, Dr. Epstein, is Jewish and his sweetheart is not, so Clint and Rhea are not the only mixed couple. He might be able to go on leave in early March, though he doesn't think he'll make it to Italy and might go to Monaco instead.
