Camp Devens (Mass.) - Visited Ayer and saw Pete, who has not had a drink since going there: "he is coming to the camp this noon to have dinner with me as we can take visitors to dine with in and surely do get used great, as the mess sergeant is a big fat Irishman and would take his shirt off for an Irishman."
