Amherst (Mass.) - Newton is glad to have heard from his father, but suggests he visit in about three weeks, to help divide the time when they are apart and also when campus is up and running, the corn is being cut, and the leaves are changing. Newton's cough is better, and he is enjoying his work more this term.

Amherst (Mass.) - Newton decided to not go home recently, as he will be there in two weeks. After commencement he will have a lot of things to bring home, including his bicycle, which has a leaking tire. Amherst (Mass.) - Newton received the letters from his parents, and thanks his father for sending a check, with which he can now pay his board. He mentions the snow storm, keeping a diary, and sending letters home. He asks for his mother to send this week's Youth's Companion, as it has a piece about Lieutenant John Perry's house.
