Amherst (Mass.) - Newton thanks his father for his letter and ten dollars, and wonders how little he can live on and save after tabulating his expenses for February at thirty four dollars. He mentions the snowy weather, his desk and room set up, letters from other family members, and how copying his notes has gotten easier, even though he hurt his hand on a lamp and is writing differently. Amherst (Mass.) - Newton is glad to have heard from his father, but suggests he visit in about three weeks, to help divide the time when they are apart and also when campus is up and running, the corn is being cut, and the leaves are changing. Newton's cough is better, and he is enjoying his work more this term.
