United States - Jazz composer and instrumentalist on his arrival in Amherst in 1972 to earn his doctorate in education, his teaching position at Hampshire College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1987, local performances and his involvement in the Jazz in July program at UMass, his experience as a music educator, and his approach to composition.
