Amherst (Mass.) - Newton received the letters from his parents, and thanks his father for sending a check, with which he can now pay his board. He mentions the snow storm, keeping a diary, and sending letters home. He asks for his mother to send this week's Youth's Companion, as it has a piece about Lieutenant John Perry's house.
