Bell, La Treece

Letter from La Treece Bell to W. E. B. Du Bois

Vernon (Tex.) - Bell, a high school student, writes that her Sociology class has just finished a unit on the "American Negro," and will soon be visiting the "colored school." The class will be presenting the school with a framed portrait of Abraham Lincoln, and Bell asks Du Bois if he could send a large photograph of himself, to be presented with the Lincoln portrait.
