Philadelphia (Pa.) - Pike informs Du Bois that while he is "in favor of most of the issues upon which your magazine discusses," but "cannot agree that the Negro will reap any greater benefit, than he now reaps after the war;" Pike goes on to explain his opinion and asks "Do you think the Negro will receive all of these benefits after the war is over?"
