Halpern, Joel Martin
Joel Halpern wrote this letter to his parents from Sweden. This letter describes his visit to Stockholm Jönköping and Uppsala and some of the events he witnessed there. He describes two tours of Stockholm where he saw the majority of the city. He also describes a meeting with Romani (he describes them as "Gypsies") and indicates he had his fortune told. The Romani fortune teller indicated he would have two sets of twins for children which sadly was not accurate. This letter also includes a warm thank you from Joel to his parents for supporting him while he was engaged in his travels and as he describes "these wonderful experiences" (p.4). This letter also includes a description of one of the Princes of Sweden whom Halpern saw at a train station though he does not indicate which prince.
