Newth, Frank F. (Frank Forrest), 1895-1979
It has been five years since Letty and Nick walked home from school and talked on the street corner for hours. In that time Nick has never been away for very long, until now. It feels longer than two and a half months because he has not received a letter from Letty, but he knows that Letty has been writing to him. He works almost every evening and is very busy but he still thinks of Letty and home often. Nick has been looking at different hand embroidered collars, table covers, and handkerchiefs but he doesn't know which ones to pick. Letty is almost twenty-one and will be old enough to vote. After writing the letter Nick received a few letters, in a postscript he writes that he was "so tickled with them."
