McCormack, Mark H.
McCormack writes Rob Strasser concerning developing problems with the Nike Wimbledon program. One of these problems involves the production of t-shirts referencing the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. McCormack indicates that Nike's rights are limited to shoes and that they do not have the right to produce Wimbledon apparel. He explains that if Nike would like to develop premium programs involving products outside the athletic shoe category, Strasser should contact Saul Schoenberg. Another problem McCormack describes involves reports which give the impression that Nike will soon have the right to produce sportswear under the Wimbledon trademark. He would like this cleared up and emphasizes the importance of Club licensees, such as Nike, not over-stepping the area of activity which has been granted to them.
