McCormack, Mark H.
With reference to the attached fax from James Erskine, McCormack asks Peter Smith for the last five years of rights for the three events in question for when he meets with Lynton Taylor. In an attached fax, Erskine summarizes his meetings with Taylor and with Channel 10 for McCormack. He indicates the percentage of the fees Taylor offered that were obtained in 1992 for the Open, PGA, and U. S. Open. He also mentions that Taylor told him the amount he had offered the U. S. Masters. Erskine briefly explains the situation with Channel 10 and identifies the added problem of Taylor saying the only way the World Matchplay, Dunhill Cup, and JWWC will get aired on Channel 9 is if they do a deal for the Majors. Also attached is a fax from Taylor to Erskine providing his offer for future rights to the following golf tournaments: the U. S. Open, the British Open, and the U. S. PGA.
