France - The Germans dropped bombs during the night, for the first time in a few weeks. On Bastille Day, Nick travelled to a historical seaside town in Northern France where he visited the tower where Joan of Arc was imprisoned and other historical sites. He comments on the beauty of the gardens and cathedrals in France. Nick has been practicing the mandolin.

Brest (France) - Nick went for a walk along the sea wall today. He saw a German boat that had been captured by the U.S. being used to transport boys home. They had hung American flags and signs saying 'Homeward Bound' from the mast while they sang the 'Star Spangled Banner'.
