Letter from Benjamin Smith Lyman to Mr. Lesley, March 15, 1867

Apprising Mr. Lesley of the learned society delegations to the funeral of Professor Bache, and of the appointment of his successsor in the position of Superintendent of the Coast Survey, Professor Pierce. The letter also informs Mr. Lesley of the selection of Dr. LaCoste as Commissioner of the Paris Expedition, of the continued ill health of Dr. Henderson, and of the lack of new job prospects.
