McCormack, Mark H.
McCormack informs Hughes Norton of his recent communication with Bruce Rappaport concerning an October golf event in Japan and explains two problems, one of which he can handle and one Norton will have to handle. He indicates that Rappaport wants the 300 Club, an issue McCormack is working on. He identifies the issue Norton has to handle as being Rappaport's desire to have a "star" player, and explains why this is problematic. Rappaport has mentioned Trevino, Casper and Snead, and does not feel that the Japanese people view Irwin as being a "star," though he would love to have him play in the tournament as well. McCormack suggests that they do not make the Barner approach until Rappaport is unreachable. He notes that he is going to be meeting with Rappaport and General Sutowo, who are anxious to get Jack Nicklaus to Bali.
