McCormack, Mark H.
McCormack indicates to Takazo Takii that he enjoyed meeting with him and his staff on August 27 and notes that he was very impressed with Takii's Kapalua line for both the women's and men's collections. He informs Takii that their renewal procedure has been progressing and that it is a lucky sign that Takii's contracted golf player, Miss Shoko Yamamoto became the runner-up in the latest Asahi golf cup event. McCormack notes that he saw many articles on Yamamoto in various Japanese newspapers and magazines. He also notes that he and Don Young appreciate Takii's efforts and enthusiasm to develop Kapalua as a great golf brand in Japan. Attached are two additional drafts of this letter and a note from Terrie Haire asking Laurie to get a copy of the draft letter and send it with McCormack's signature to Takii. Also attached is a fax from Fumiko Matsuki to McCormack concerning Shoko Yamamoto's success and suggesting that McCormack write Takii a short letter congratulating him on his luck to have "such a charming player for Kapalua." Matsuki attaches articles about Shoko Yamamoto (written in Japanese) from Flash Magazine, Sports Nippon, Daily Sports, Houchi Shimbun, and Sankei Sports. Articles not scanned. An additional attachment is a fax from Matsuki to Michelle Lane enclosing a copy of Matsuki's aforementioned fax to McCormack, including the sample letter to Takii and previously mentioned copies of Japanese articles. Articles not scanned.
