Clarke School for the Deaf
Includes reports of the chairman, president, principal, guidance program, teacher education department, research department, and development program. One hundred and seventy-nine children are currently enrolled in the Clarke School. Twenty-five people completed the requirements of the Teacher Education program and ninety-two teachers attended the Summer Institute from twenty states. Dr. Philip A. Bellefleur was appointed to lead the Clarence W. Barron research department. The profession lost a strong advocate with President Kennedy's death. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the National Defense Education Act Amendment.
