Theatrical producer John Golden, 81, receives the "Handicapped Oscar", from 4 1/2 year old arm amputee Gregory Sorg of Islip, Long Island, and actress Helen Menken for making possible the rehabilitation of hundreds of handicapped people at the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled, rehabilitation center in New York City, through the only preview benefit performance of the play "Seventh Heaven" which opens on Broadway at the ANTA Theater, May 25, 1955. Miss Menken, who starred in the original Golden production of "Seventh Heaven" in 1922, is a trustee and vice president of the Institute. Young Sorg, disabled from birth, is an institute patient.
